Brent, thank you for your comments, they are very enlightening. Unfortunately, we had Shaw Epic Hardwood flooring professionally installed throughout our house two years ago and now have a beautiful but noisy floor almost everywhere you walk. We first had the 3/8 inch flooring installed in part of the house and after removing it twice due to noise the company we purchased it from agreed to replace it with 3/4 inch Shaw flooring and we just paid the additional cost of the product. The floor seemed to fine for about a year with limited noise, however, now there are cracking "popcorn" sounds that come and go all over the house. We are now going to pursue our supplier and Shaw about this problem as it seems to be getting worse. Any further information you may have about this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your helpful comments.

Shaw may call it a green product but they won't stand behind it.
It has a very poor tounge design that does not allow the staples to seat firmly. In a few months you have an expensive floor that moves and makes noise everywhere you walk. I install wood flooring for a living with no other problems with any other products.Shaw says the problem is poor installation (not enough staples). My advise is if it says shaw on the box keep shopping.
